We have surpassed the 50 member mark!
:bna: :bna: :bna: :bna: :bna: :bna:
As our 50th member, xclr1 is the winner of . . . . . . well . . . MY CONGRATULATIONS (for whatever that's worth).
We have had somewhat of a surge, for us at least, of new members here on the website lately. Let's hear a little about you and your cars/trucks. How did you find us? What are your interests? Etc.

Hi all- Being the 50th new member I thought a new 2003 Cobra would be an excellent choice for a prize and would look great sitting in my garage next to my Azure blue 2003 Mach 1 I bought from Griffin Ford. Sorry I didn't make the meeting. I will bring out the Mach at the next meeting-weather permitting. I once owned a '67 Fastback GT 390/auto with a non-stock shaker. When I saw the new Mach I had to have one. I work at Harley-Davidson Motor Co. as an experimental mechanic/model maker (17 years) and currently own a 1977 XLCR1000 Cafe Racer- 100% stock except for tires/battery and a 2003 Fuel-injected, Anniversery Fat Boy, silver/black that will be for sale next fall if anyone is interested. Looking foward to meeting all of you and seeing your kick-ass rides. Also, I am looking to do the following mods to my Mach 1- Exhaust, chip, high flow air cleaner, etc. Anyone know of a quality shop that deals with Ford SVT/Mustang Hi-Performance parts with installation and a dyno. Thanks, Dale E. devens@wi.rr.com

Hey!
I'm fairly new, does that count? :D
I'm looking forward to some nice weather and getting the iron back out on the streets and seeing all of the high performance Ford equipment everyone on this site has.
This winter is perfect timing because I have to get the Cobra track prepared plus I need a trailer and a different truck to pull the whole shootin' match. So the timing of winter this year is perfect for me :bna:
See you all soon! (Daytona 500 party?) Go Ford!!!!

Welcome Dale and Bruce. You both have cars that are at the top of my dream list and I can't wait to see them.
Bruce, there is only one truck worthy of pulling your trailer. I'll give you 3 guesses.

I already have it picked out.
How about a red 1999 F-350 4x4 with a power stroke diesel, 4" exhaust and a chip?
Can I get a witness this is the right truck?
You won't see me driving anything but a Ford product. No worry there!!:bna:

Here is a little info about me. I found out about the club from a freind (Rick K.) At first I was a little unsure about joining, since I do not have a SVT. But I do like FORD. I have been a member of TFR for two years. In my past owensrship of cars, it been mostly FORD's. First car was a 1964 Fairlane 500 4d. 260 v8 3 on the colium. Whish I had it back. have had one 1971 mustang. also had a couple of TR3. Currently driving a 1997 Explore, MY project car is a 1980 T Bird silver aniversy modle. Orignaly I pick up the car back in 1990. motor was forzen. Paint was pealing from sitting in the HOT Florida Sun. I rebuilt the motor, stock 2V. and had the car striped and repainted the orignal colors. Tehn got transfer to MKE from Tampa in 1991. At that time it was my only car so it saw a few winter up here. Then in 1995 I put it to bed.
Two year agao I started redoing the motor, this time going to a EFI, Stroker kit, Trick flow heads. Its been slow going, but starting to see the light.

1964 Fairlane 500 (droooooooool)
God that is so going to be my next classic. Mainly because the 68 Shelby GT500KR is way outta my reach at this point :)
Those fairlanes just scream tub me out and drag me :)
Oh yeah, welcome to the club. I've been anxious to see the Mach I.

Chris:
I think you're hinting I should be pulling my new setup with a Lightning?:bna:
I'd love to, but I think I'd be at least a ton Probably more) over towing capacity?
Like George Bush Senior used to say "Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent"

Ding Ding Ding!!!
There's the answer I was looking for.
Well you are probably right about it being a little light in the towing department. I don't know much about towing but the previous Gen II L's have a 5,000 lb. towing capacity with a Class III hitch.
The 03's have an increased payload capacity which went from 800 to 1,400 lbs. but I couldn't find any info on if the towing capacity had increased because of that change. I think I saw somewhere that towing capacity was calculated by more that just suspension and included tire specs but like I said, I'm not up on that stuff.
Oh well, as I said before, sounds like a nice truck anyway.

Welcome thhodges. I thought I saw a face I didn't recognize at the meeting and when I had Mike read back the sign in sheet I still couldn't figure it out. Missing the sign in explains that.
Don't feel bad about not owning an SVT. I think you'll find that we are all first and foremost Ford freaks and where each goes from there within the Ford family is irrelavent.
We all look forward to seeing you around.

Hey Chiris:
OK, I was only off by a ton ;o) I think I'm gonna be pulling about 9,000 pounds by the time I get the car in the trailer along with one or two sets of spare tires and rims, my tools, jack, jack stands, fuel, nitrogen tank, etc, etc, well, you get the picture.
I never drove a Lightning and it's probably a good thing because I most likely would have replaced my '78 F-150 if I did. Then I'd have WAY too many vehicles and would be out of places to keep them for sure.
