Just wondering if anyone has installed a ported blower on their lightning. How difficult is the swap or is it relatively easy and straight forward? Thanks GP

Swapping the blowers is very easy. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would say it is a 4.5. I have done an Apten on my 02 and a Kenne Bell on my 04. I also put an Apten on Dean's 03. For the money the ported blowers are the way to go. I don't know what your goals are with the truck, but I would suggest that you have the upper ported along with the blower. The combo works well together. While the blower is off you have alot more room to change plugs also. I would go with a Denso IT20 or a NGK TR6. You will gain about 2lbs of boost with the ported blowers. You will need torque wrenchs in inch lbs and foot lbs. Other than that no other special tools are needed. Don't forget you will need to be tuned for the ported blower! I think we know someone who can do that for you.

Yea I just changed the plugs last week. Took a little over an hour to do. I am also porting the upper myself. I figured I have all the tools might as well do it instead of paying someone to. I have about 2hrs into it so far. I am ditching the chip the truck has now for a X-Cal2 which is coming next week along with the blower and 2CR FTVB.
