Hi Guys and Girls!
Newbie Bruce here. I recently acquired a brand spankin' :D new '00 Cobra "R" Model. It had 17 miles on it when I picked it up and I have a whopping 150 miles on it now. Been too busy to drive it :(
I'm looking forward to meeting the group here and burning up some rubber and brake pads next year.
This is my first shot at driving other than in a straight line. I have some other vehicles but think this one will soon be my favorite. No Doubt!:bna:
Glad to be aboard!!

A 2000 Cobra R. Can't wait to see you & your "R" next year at our events. We all have a great time when we get together. Where in the world did you find your "R" with only 17 miles on it??

Well, here's my story:
I bought my '00 "R" from a guy in Menomonee Falls and he had five (yes 5) of them!! One was a driver and four were in a hermetically sealed time capsule. One of the other ones had 8 miles on it. I was lucky enough to get one of them :o) He sold all 4 of them so there may be more popping up!
Once I get the rear knucke recall taken care of it will be heading over to the roll cage guy for the installation of a six point cage and sub-frame connectors, extreme matrix braces and jacking rails. Then I have to fabricate and install a differential cooler and supports for the air splitter. So, needless to say, I will be busy this winter.
I'm looking forward to using this beast as it was intended.
Can someone point me to a site that explains the activities involved at the SVTOA experience in Dearborn? I received the hotel information (via email) from the SVTOA site but nowhere can I find out what this event all entails? It's the same weekend that my annual pilgrimage to M.I.S. is so I need to make a "decision"!
Thanks for your help all!!
Bruce

Did you visit the Ford .com website? After you get on click on the 100th Annv. page & you can get all the info you need, can also purchase tickets there too.

Thanks for the tip. I went to the Ford site and did not see any type of track activity? That would be the only thing to draw me there.
Unless there is another track event somewhere else, I will most likely head to M.I.S. for the Cup race.
When does a WISVTO 2003 schedule come out? Do any of you run other events around here? SCCA? Etc.
Thanks again!

Hi Bruce,
Welcome. I had always heard rumors of the hermitically sealed 00 R but always passed it off as legend. I don't know if I would have the patience it takes to make something like that pay off.
We really don't have a schedule of events for 2003 yet. I think a tenative schedule will be attempted when the board meets next.
However, our activities director, DOHC281 (Terry) and a couple of other members, including me, belong to the Great Lakes Sport Car Club which is a member club of the Midwestern Council Sports Car Clubs. WISVTOA has "piggybacked" events with a couple of Council parking lot autocrosses this last year including one at Miller park. I am sure we will particiapate in some more Council events in 2003.
We had a couple of drag events last year at Great Lakes which were a lot of fun if you want to try your hand at the straight line thing. Our webmaster works there and we are always treated very well when we go. I hope to get a spring drag event on the calendar for 2003.
The great thing about WISVTOA is the wide variety of events we have. This last year we had a couple of touring cruises, one ending up at a Drive In to just hang out and the other at Lake Geneva Raceway where we go karted, had dinner, and watched some racing. We also did the previously mentioned parking lot AX's, drag events, and a car show.
If your are interested in open track racing or high speed autocross, you may want to think about Great Lakes Sport Car Club as I mentioned before. There are 5 to 6 high speed autocross events per year and wheel to wheel racing as well if that's what you like. We race mainly at Blackhawk and there is usually an event at GingerMan in Michigan. Like WISVTOA, its a great bunch of people. There is always one guy at the high speed AX's with an 00 R and he doesn't do too badly. If you are interested in seeing what GLSCC is about, the next meeting is December 5 at the Machine Shed restaurant (I-94 and J) at 7:30. If I don't see you there, I look forward to meeting you at the next WISVTOA event.

Hi All:
Well, as fate would have it, I have to be in Stevens Point on Thursday for a meeting at the brewery. I am not sure if I will be able to make it back in time for the meeting at the machine shed:mad: Wouldn't that just frost ya?:bash:
But, I am going to try to make it come hell or high water. I'll just have to see how the day plays out.
I hope to make it and meet all of you.
