NEED ADVICE on loudness of cat-back exhaust systems!

What's up guys. My dad and I have a 2003 Cobra completely stock and we're starting to do mods on it. We wanted to start with the exhaust and were told that the Borla Stingers with the 4 inch tips were awesome. Only thing is, we don't know exactly how loud they are. Me, I want the loudest and deepest. Dad, he wants to not get a disturbing the peace ticket!

So we figured we should have something clearly louder and deeper than stock, but not the loudest of the loud so it wouldn't be untolerable inside the car. Do you guys think the Borla Stingers would be a good choice for us?!?!

The Borla Stingers are definately nice and they are a tad on the loud side but not obnoxious IMO. It seems that those who have not like the Borla's because they are too loud for them have gone to the more mellow Magnaflow.

My suggestion would be to come to our next Cruise-in at Victoria's on August 18. I am sure there will be a variety of Cobra exhaust systems to sample. :D

I have the Magnaflow catback and think it is perfect. Reasonably quiet when driving slowly through the neighborhood, but nice and loud at any aggressive level of go-pedal.

Go with the stingers all the way! They are awesome, not too loud when you're just cruising, but they sound mean when you get on it. You'll love them.

Thanks to everyone for your advise, and especially to Marv! We got the Stingers from Marv and they perform just like jk03Cobras says. They are not too loud when cruising and have a great mean sound when you get on it. We love them too!

The Borla Stingers were to loud for me , although they sound awsome IMO. My Magnaflow's are nice but maybe even would like a quietier system like the Borla 14858 system. I'm debating on taking the Magna's off and swapping to the quietier Borla which is supposed to have much less drone with the same nice tip's as the stinger's.

I'm just into a nice muscle car sound , and although I can really appreciate loud , I just don't want the attention it draw's and loud does'nt mean more power , so I would suggest you go for the sound you like and don't worry about power gain's

I went w/ the Borla's on my 04 and love them. Load enough to be heard but still able to talk while on the highway. I also like the rounded tip look.
