First off, welcome to the board.

Well, no one I know of has used Speed, Inc. We have not really had anybody to do custom or Lightning specific dyno tunes in the area. We all, Cobra and Lightning guys alike, have really been working with mail order tunes or tunes that were loaded into a Predator that can be tweaked.

However, our very own Master Mechanic Marv (Yellow Iron) has just become a Superchips dealer and is looking to get enough Lightning guys together get the Superchips package for the Lightning and arrange a dyno day for custom tuning. My truck will be done by Marv for sure with a Superchips tune and we a couple others ready to go so if you can wait a little bit, we can all get ours done together. Nothing can beat a custom dyno tune. If you search a little on the board, I think you will find that Marv comes highly recommended.

Maybe Marv can add something to this post.

Are you looking for a chip or a handheld tuner? From what I've heard, James @ RWTD makes some awesome tunes for the Predators. If you go to www.nloc.net you can check out what others have said about this and that in the different forums.
Look forward to seeing you at the Ice Breaker!

I only know of one person who's gone down there with an L but as far as I know that was ONLY for a dyno session, not a tune.

Other than that, there are a couple of guys over on nloc that have gone there but the majority of people haven't said much. I've talked to the guy who does the tunes there over yahoo IM quite a few times he seems like an alright guy. Their website is being updated and hasn't had any L parts on it for a while, when I asked him he basically explained that L's aren't really on the priority list over there. That said, I've never heard of a bad experience there, but the only good things I've ever heard of over there have been LS1 tunes and other chevy stuff. I'm not trying to badmouth them one bit, the guy is really nice and we chat every now and then, I haven't heard alot of good news, but I definately haven't heard any bad news come out of there either. Alot of the LS1 guys I know hold them in high regard. But I guess take that for what it's worth.

Only thing is that their tuning prices with dyno seemed a little on the high side.

Might I also recommend Marv for your performance needs.

Also why not stop in the general area and introduce yourself or something. What color is your L? I saw one on the way to work today that I haven't seen before, and I keep an eye out.

If there is enough interest, I'd be glad to put together some type of a Dyno Day and do some custom tuning. I did a lot of research on the tuners out there, and without question I was the most impressed with SCT (Superchips Custom Tuning) They have the best support system in the industry right now. There soon to be released X-Calibrator 2 will be the industry standard that others will be shooting for.
I will be at the Ice Breaker and have more info and be able to answer any questions you may have. Once we get a idea of how many people are interested,we can work out the details of individual cost and where this will take place. In the meantime, I'll start checking out the dyno's around town and see what kind of rate we can get. We don't have to limit this to Lightnings only. Any Ford will be welcome. Thanks!!! Marv Z:shft

Has there been a definite date the Xcalibrator 2 will be released? I read may to june release. I'm looking to get something done real soon.

Marv told me that the Xcalibrator 2 is very, very near which is good because I too have to do something very soon to be ready for - the May 21 On Track event at the Autobahn. For me, if the X2 isn't out by then, I'm doing the X1 and take Superchips up on their exchange program when it does come out. Its pretty clear to me that the Superchips set up is the way to go.

I hate to be the only L at Joliet from Milwaukee. b freak, are you interested in open track events? This would be a good one if you are and haven't been to one before as the SVTOA National On Track events are great for learning because of the instruction available. I think you would be surprised at how well the L handles the track when pushed to its limits (I know the Cobra's I pass are ;) ).
