Hi SVT Group:
I just finished a 2 day performance driving school at Road America yesterday and it was more than awesome. Great instructors, you get to use your own car, in car instructor and lots of time on the track!
Can't quite take down those darn Z06 guys... until the Kenny Belle is purchased.

If you ever get the chance... "Track Time" rocks!

ps: Ran 3:05 around the track, my instructor ran 2:30 in his
Porshe... Yikes

Sounds like you had some fun. You're right, track time at RA does rock. 3:05 is a good time around there on street tires. I'm hoping to break the 3 minute barrier with L but will have to wait until next year to try that again.

Some guy racing a GT class race car set a new record last weekend with something like a 1:56 if I remember right. That must be some kind of ride.

Are you going to make it to the Northwoods Shelby event this weekend? There will be a few members running but it looks like we have more spectators than participants this year. I'll be there spectating on Sunday along with Mike, Terry, and I think Marv was coming. Maybe see you there?

Hi Blue Oval:
The great thing about "Track Time" Racing school is that we logged on about 180 miles of track time in the 2 days. 100
students and 20 instructors.

My friend that attended school with me has 3 Saleens and we talked about going this week end, I am not a member of NW Shelby Club though. Did they offer us an invitation to attend this year similar to the old post from last year?

I am also hearing alot of rumors that you will be able to buy
someones track time if they are unable to attend, breakdown... Do you know anything about this?

Clay

You're right that you have to be a NWSCC member to run with them but you can join as you register to run. And you heard right that there are usually spots to buy from people not showing or breaking.

Even if you don't run, bring your helmet as rides are usually also available from people you know or get to know. I learn alot from riding with more experienced drivers.

I'm also planning on spectating this weekend. BlueOval...I'm the guy you sent those articles to... I'll see you Sunday if you're there.

I'll make sure I bring my helmet... maybe I can get a ride :allhail:

If you're not able to get track time this event, don't forget about the SpeedSeekers event in October. I was going to enter my car for that event but I don't know if my car and my driving skills are up to it.

If you don't mind sharing, how much did that driving school cost? Was it the Skip Barber school?

The cost was pretty reasonable, only $650.00 for 2 days 7am - 5pm. But, the gas on the other hand gets really expensive (100 octane @ $6.00 gal). You can find their web page at tracktime.com.

Thanks for the speed seekers tip, I heard at Road America that there is always a few nasty crashes at the F-Body event.

Hey, thanks for the link to Track Time.

I went to one Speedseekers event last year. Yeah, I do remember there being a crash that time.

Hopefully there's some open time for you this weekend if you plan on going.
