This event is at the 2.2 mile road course at GingerMan Raceway, located east of South Haven MI. The event is the 4th AX of 5 events and is sponsored by Madison Sports Car Club (MSCC), one of 9 clubs in Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. It is a 4 hour drive, but worth it. The track is very technical, fast, and safe with liberal runoff areas. I can\'t find my entry form, but cost of event is about $90 ($75 for MC members). The morning is high speed practice, by performance groups, with available instructors, and PM is time trials.
Long sleeve cotton shirts and a \'90 Snell helmet is required. If you have some modifications to your car, then a 5 point harness is probably required. Convertibles require roll bars.
My wife, Merv, and I are leaving Sunday morning. This gives us a chance to wind down after the drive and watch the end of the Darlington race (sometimes from a local bar). Then we hang out downtown - the city is similar to Fish Creek. Or, maybe the guys will go to the track and watch the end of the enduro race. In the evening, we go to our favorite Italian restaurant, then walk the pier out to the lake. On Monday, we get up early for 7 AM tech and an early start. This is one track whee practice is helpful.
If interested, let me know on this board. We can \"tour\" to the track, maybe from a meeting point at the CTH Q / STH 165 rest stop off IH 94. BTW, hotels in South Haven include Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, among many others.
