We had a great day at the track even though it was 90+ degrees and humid. As a result, times were a little bit weaker than expected. Anyhow, here are the results:
The fastest time posted by a car was Greg Angeli who ran a blistering 12.729 @108.7 mph in his 347 stroker Cobra. He edged out Andy LaRocca in his 351 powered 85(?) GT from Sun Prairie who ran a very respectable 12.745 @ 107.52.
The fastest Lightning of the day was Scott Meidl who came all the way from Green Bay to run a 13.695 @ 103.84 mph beating my 13.908 @ 100.05 mph. Jeff (I forgot your last name) was the favorite earlier in the day (running high 12\'s) but problems in the shootout pass limited him to 16.309 @ 60.60 mph. There\'s always next year Jeff!
Our last award was for fastest reaction time at the light. This went to Mark Lorentzen driving my 93 Cobra and despite a dismal elapsed time of 16.237 @ 100.41 mph (ouch), he ripped off a .533 reaction time. Marv (the last name escapes me again) got off a .599 at the lights in his 01(?) Cobra.
On a side note, the battle of the Focus\'s (or is plural \"Foci\") Mike Tagtow in his SVT Focus beat Tory from Sun Prairie in his Focus ZX3 running 16.612 @ 84.16 and 17.578 @ 77.36 respectively.
Pictures will be posted by Greg after I send them to him. Curt became our official photogragher as he broke his transmission practicing launches the day before. Once again, there\'s always next year Curt.
And there will be a next year at Great Lakes so if you didn\'t make it this year, be sure to watch for the date and plan on attending. We are already discussing ways to make next year\'s event bigger and better!;)
