We had a great day at the track even though it was 90+ degrees and humid. As a result, times were a little bit weaker than expected. Anyhow, here are the results:

The fastest time posted by a car was Greg Angeli who ran a blistering 12.729 @108.7 mph in his 347 stroker Cobra. He edged out Andy LaRocca in his 351 powered 85(?) GT from Sun Prairie who ran a very respectable 12.745 @ 107.52.

The fastest Lightning of the day was Scott Meidl who came all the way from Green Bay to run a 13.695 @ 103.84 mph beating my 13.908 @ 100.05 mph. Jeff (I forgot your last name) was the favorite earlier in the day (running high 12\'s) but problems in the shootout pass limited him to 16.309 @ 60.60 mph. There\'s always next year Jeff!

Our last award was for fastest reaction time at the light. This went to Mark Lorentzen driving my 93 Cobra and despite a dismal elapsed time of 16.237 @ 100.41 mph (ouch), he ripped off a .533 reaction time. Marv (the last name escapes me again) got off a .599 at the lights in his 01(?) Cobra.

On a side note, the battle of the Focus\'s (or is plural \"Foci\") Mike Tagtow in his SVT Focus beat Tory from Sun Prairie in his Focus ZX3 running 16.612 @ 84.16 and 17.578 @ 77.36 respectively.

Pictures will be posted by Greg after I send them to him. Curt became our official photogragher as he broke his transmission practicing launches the day before. Once again, there\'s always next year Curt.

And there will be a next year at Great Lakes so if you didn\'t make it this year, be sure to watch for the date and plan on attending. We are already discussing ways to make next year\'s event bigger and better!;)

Well if you could find a way to turn off the heat for next year :)

Perhaps scheduling it in may or something next year? The heat really kills times.

Well, that\'s a tough one. Weather is always the wildcard in planning events, especially in Wisconsin (based on the past January, maybe we can plan a January drag event LOL) So you never really know what kind of weather you\'re going to get anytime of the year, at least it wasn\'t raining. :D

Scheduling the event in conjunction with Fun Ford Day has it\'s advantages and disadvantages. The good thing is that the club gets great exposure to it\'s target market, Ford owners, and club members that attend are able to see a variety of Ford products race. The downside is that we are at the mercy of where GLD places FFD on their schedule.

While we certainly can\'t make any promises, the topic of event date will fall into the \"ways to make the event better\" planning discussions for next year.

Hey, we\'re open until November. so who says we can\'t have another Day At The Drags event this year??? :D

I may be able to swing it so chapter members can race for free.
You would HAVE to be a registered member of SVTOA National to be eligible.

Sounds like a great idea! Now that I have over 1K on our 2003 Cobra I\'ll put it on the track. My son had that fast Lightning but it didn\'t run right in the heat of the afternoon or he would have the top time, I know that Lightning really goes! :s

Right now its stock but plan to do a few things next spring like exhaust system & air intake. I\'m waiting till I hear what is available & when. K & N tells me after the 1st of the year & I what to hear more about the how to improve the sound of exhaust . NMy son tells me to change blower pulley to a Lightning pulley.

Yeah, just talk him into getting a smaller upper pulley for his truck and you can have the one he has now ;)

I thought I saw a 03 cobra on 100 the other day. Is yours that tannish/grey color by chance?

We have a Sonic Blue Convertible. The reason I say we is, without my wifes OK we might not have it, so its always \"WE\"
Don\'t get into Milw. much.
Have to take to my son about the pulley deal.
