Who's all going to be at Miller Park for the Autocrossing? It's an absolute blast and a great skill builder and you don't have to replace your brakes afterwards. Brakes?! We don't need no stinking Brakes!!!!!!!!!!!
See you there, Bee

Madison Sports Car Club (MSCC) is part of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs, like GLSCC. MSCC holds their own parking lot AX program. The event this coming Sunday is their Ninth event this year. They award points under a very similar set of rules as the MCSCC High-Speed AX rules. They give End-of-Year awards at their club banquet, much like MC does for their program.

Parking lot AX is a much different animal. It is requires a very athletic car. Most serious competitors will have a specific front alignment set-up much differnent than for high-speed events. Speeds vary from 10 to 55 mph (first and second gears). There will be a lot of cones. At speed, it can be confusing where the correct line or path lies, so get there early for the "walk-through". Like high speed, turn-in, apex, and brake points are critical. So is cornering speed. Tires take a real beating.

The MSCC event is at Miller Park this Sunday, October 12. It is held in the Dodgers/Mets parking lot. Take Miller Park Way off I-94, exit at the next interchange south, turn right at the stop, and proceed easterly across the Menomonee River into the east lot. Registration is 7:30 to 7:45 AM. Tech is 8 to 10 AM. Drivers Meeting is at 10 AM. Usually, 5 to 6 runs are provided. As with most AX events - only your best time is scored. Most of our Cobras will run in AP. Focus SVT is CS, I think. Cost is $30. Sorry, I did not make any pre-arrangements for discounts this year.

So.... who plans on going? :)

If we have more that 3 members show, I will offer a prize, based on a numerator/denominator to your Class/Category's average of the first and second place times.

Wow, I better remember to bring my calculator. :knock:

BTW, you can pre-register at myautoevent.com. This way, you can find out what your number will be when you get there. If you don't pre-register, be sure bring along contact paper, pencil, and a scissors to make your numbers.

See ya there!

Any idea what class my '93 Lightning would run in?
I've got my numbers but they have me down in class FS and I don't know if that is the right class to be in. I've usually just run in the R or rear wheel drive class. Bee

I see your L in class C "Lightnings - all" Class F is for all two wheel drive truck with base SOHC 4 cylinder. Check out the point assessment page to determine if you will run in Stock, Prepared, Modified or Race class based on any mods you have done.

Look at www.madisonsportscarclub.com and click on the rules. You can look at their rules of competition in pdf format. :D

What a great day! The weather at the ball park was ideal. :D

Unfortuantely, only three members showed for runs (Bill, Chris and myself). Mike, Bruce and Mark showed up for some rah rah support (it helped!), and a few other "familar" member vehicles drove by for a look-see.

The 10 am walk-through was very important. The course included many decreasing (and tight) radii turns. It was easy for many to get "lost". After a brief shut down to modify the course, away we were off. We each had five timed runs, in two heats.

Bill ran the Lightning in CS. When I worked Corner "4", I called control, reporting him for having the biggest damn smile on his face on every run. Unfortunately, they had no trophy for that.

I "slip-slided" away in AP, losing by big margins to two Corvettes and very fast Honda S2000. They were all on soft-compound tires.

Chris took first in SM, running faster on each run. With that, he is top dog in this Wisconsin SVTOA event.:hrs:

It was fun coming down to watch you guys do your thing. I have a couple photos of Chris and Terry cuttin' a rug out on the course.

Great pictures Bruce. Thanks. I've got one of Bill in his truck that I will try to reduce and post.

Terry forgot to mention Joel also showed up to lend his support. Thanks to everyone who came. It was a great day for racing. :shft

I wish I could have been there. Instead I wasted four hours of my life at Lambeau Field, watching the Pack lose in OT. It was the most gut wrenching loss I've ever seen. I guess that's what happens when you skip a race event!!! Never Again!!!!!! Marv Z

Sounds like a better time than I had. I was at a surprise b-day party that started at 9am, and let out after the packer game... which I shouldn't have bothered to watch. :knock: :knock:

Well, I thought I had a picture of Bill's truck but only have half of it as you can see. I tried 3 or 4 times as he came around but I guess he was just too fast for me. :wtf:

Here is a picture Mark caught of my Cobra. He had tried to catch Terry but never was able to get one. It was not easy.
