I found out that you guys are going to Blackhawk Farms in September. How much is it to join in the fun? Do I need any special equipment or helmet to run on the track? How fast can you get up to out there? Can anyone show up that day and run?
Lemme' know so I can start prepping for that weekend and be organized and ready to rock out there (It's what the car is made for!!!!)

Alright, who told Jason about the Blackhawk event?!
j/k Yes, we will be participating in the Midwestern Council Sport Car Club's high speed autocross event at Blackhawk Farms as guests of the Great Lakes Sport Car Club on September 27. GLSCC will be the hosting club for that weekend's racing activities. Entry fees are usually in the $80 to $90 range for MCSCC members and $110.00 to $120.00 for non-members (fees and other race details will be available soon). Your race day will consist of 3 (maybe 4) morning practice runs and 3 (maybe 4) timed runs in the afternoon.
We will be participating under MCSCC rules so there are some helmet, car classification, and other regulations that will have to be addressed but we will discuss that in more detail later. Pre-registration is highly recommended but payment is not due until registration on race day.
Terry, Bruce and I are members of GLSCC and will keep everyone updated. If you would like to see the track layout of Blackhawk Farms, go to http://www.blackhawkfarms.com/ It's not really a "high speed" road course but I got the L up to 110 on the home stretch. :)
You'll have a lot of fun in your Focus. ;)

Chris:
It's on my calendar as a "to do" event! :bna: I have not seen any sign up info as yet.
Are we going to need transponders for that event?

Bruce, this Thursday's meeting is when all mailing materials are being assembled and determined who will be doing what on that weekend. I know I will be there Friday night and Sunday morning handling registration but AXing on Saturday. Hope you can make it this Thursday.
They hare not requiring transponsder's as far as I know at any of the AX's this year. I heard they may go to them next year in AX.

Jason, just a heads up. If you have several mods done to the car, you will be put into a "prepared" category. All vehicles competing in a Prepared (or Modified) category must have a four point harness system. A system such a Schroth is acceptable. However, a five or six point system is better. There are a lot of systems for sale on eBay since most professional sanctioning bodies require a three year expiration date (MCSCC AX does not).
Good luck. I'll be there in the Cobra. :)
BTW, it was nice seeing you at the Clark Station last Friday. I bet you thought I was real loser since I had Tommy Taurus (RIP).

LOL, I thought you were a salesman or something...
I just have a cold air intake and will have better brake pads(when they hit the market!!!), so if that constitutes "prepared class" I'll be prepared to throw the stock intake back on.
Sounds good, my buddy Bill really wants to bring the Lighting; as a matter of fact, he and his dad could bring three lightnings. Boy do they have it tough! :bash:

A CAI should be only 2 points, which will keep you in Stock category. Brake pad material is free. Good luck!

Chris:
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the meeting tomorrow night. I also missed last month's meeting because of Summerfest and this month because of State Fair and next month because of the Shelby Northwoods event at Road America. (and I aint missing that unless I'm dead!!! LOL)
I really would appreciate you keeping me abreast of the BFR event because I REALLY want to do it. It will be my first event with the group and only my second time since 1996 on BFR. I need a speed fix BAD.
Thanks for your help on this.
