The Wisconsin Chapter of SVTOA will hold its second Icebreaker event at GRIFFIN Ford from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. According to Vilas Rasmussen, general manager at Griffin, this event is geared to the automotive performance enthusiast. More than 300 people attended last year's inaugural event.
A highlight of this year's show will be the display of one of Jack Roush's rare 2003 supercharged Ford Mustangs. Roush Performance, a division of Roush Industries, builds the world's fastest production small-block Mustangs. The Roush Mustang can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and perform a quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds.
Special guest at the show will be Jeremy Behrendt, a national driving instructor for SVTOA On-Track events, who will display his 1999 Mustang Cobra SVT. Behrendt will offer insights into preparing your vehicle - and yourself - for an On-Track event.
In addition, an experienced local drag racer will discuss his driving techniques, and a Ford master mechanic will talk about SVT vehicles.
The Wisconsin Special Vehicle Team Owners Association is the local chapter of SVTOA, a grass roots enthusiast organization supported by the Special Vehicle Team unit of the Ford Performance Division. SVTOA has chapters throughout the USA and Canada. Membership is open to any owner of any of the vehicles that make up the Ford family of cars and trucks.
The club encourages all owners of SVT and other Ford performance vehicles to display their cars at the Icebreaker. There is no entry fee for participants, and all exhibitors will be eligible for a drawing of gifts donated by Griffin Ford.
Concessions will be available, with all proceeds donated to the American Stroke Association.
For more information, contact Peter Tagtow, Griffin's SVTOA advisor, at (262) 542-5781 or visit www.WISVTOA.com.
Griffin Ford is located at 1940 East Main Street, one mile east of I-94 on Hwy. 18.
