April's topic - COBRA'S, arguably SVT's most recognized performance vehicle. The weather should be at a point where we can hopefully coax a few of your snakes out for a night of show and tell.
I would really like to have an example of each model year on hand for this event. Please contact me or post on this thread if you can bring yours.
Griffin will supply pizza and soda for us as always (a big thanks to Vilas  )
Hope to see you all there. :D

Ricer=Import or domestic car with outlandish bodykits, big wings, 5" fart can exhaust tips, chrome rims, and loads of sticklers all over there cars. They'll race anyone and anything thinking they can beat it because they have a cold air antake and cat back exhaust:D :D :D :D Trust me they're annoying and not worth the air they breathe:rolleyes: But then again that is just my .02:)

xbnch - Ricers are those little 4 cylinder buzz bombs usually made by Japanese auto makers. I'm sure you've seen them, lowered, big wheels, big wings on the trunk lid, coffee can exhaust pipe, bumpin' stereos, etc. It's all the rage among the younger crowd.
97_cobra_97 Griffin Ford is at 1940 East Main Street in Waukesha. Here is a link to a map. http://www.griffin-ford.com/pages/present/flm/notlocalized/locateus/default.asp

Thanks for the info. NOW, what is solid gold night? And "in Firestone"??
BlueOvalBolt
03-31-2003, 08:26 PM
Solid Gold night is the night that all the *cough*"classic"*cough* cars assemble at the Solid Gold McDonald's on 76th Street. I think the cut off is something like 1982 and older vehicles. They are pretty prickly about who they let in. Those who have cars that are newer than that tend to congregate in neighboring lots around there, the Firestone tire store being one of them.

I wont be there this wednesday cause my car is getting fixed, but it's looks like next wednesday I will be there... hopefully with the chrome 03's on it too.

What time is this event? The soonest I can get there is 6:15-6:30 without taking off work. It should be light out til near 8:00, so hopefully it will work out.

Yes, things get rolling at about 6:30. I hope the weather will permit everyone to bring their snakes out.
Scott - Hope you can make it down from the Fox Valley.
If the weather does hold, it looks like we will be close to having an example of every year but for a few.
Anyone with a 94 or 95 to show? Maybe Greg?

Had a good turn out, I think, thanks to favorable weather. Thanks to everyone who brought their rides, it was an impressive display of snakes.

Marv,
If you'd like, you can email them to me at animal20@core.com. I'll shrink them for ya and try to find a place to post them (my photopost is almost full)
Chris,
I do have 3 pics of your car that I took before the camera died. 2 are fuzzy as I must not have one of those steady photographer hands :)
I also have a shot of the 4 door focus.

Didn't get a head-count on people, but we had 8 Cobras- a '93, 2 '96's, a '98, a '99, an '01, + 2 '03's, plus a Ranger and a Windstar, just so we'd have something to look at besides Mustangs (We all know how boring that can be). Probably about 15 people there, + all seemed to have a good time.

Thanks for the compliment Dave, as I told you Wednesday, those stock wheels on your 98 are my favorites.
Official head count was 19, a new Shop Talk record if I remember right.
Anyone else have a few pics?
