I figured out I'm looking at $500 a month in gas just to get to and from work if the price goes up to $2.50. That doesn't even include trips to great lakes or cruising hwy 100. Time to move closer to work I guess.

I was a amazed  by a recent study where it was noted that gas prices last fall were at the lowest that they have EVER been. How can that be? Well, the study put it in relation to the Cost of Living Index. It's true, gas prices are a bargain. It explains why people don't even consider gas mileage nowadays when they purchase a new vehicle. Quite frankly, I would not mind seeing a federal "surcharge" tax on gasoline or diesel that would be returned to all states to ease all their budget deficits. Most states are seeing their expenses rise due to unfunded federal mandates. If they had a way to reduce their expenses, they would reduce present and future costs related to borrowing. It would also provide a public sense of conservatism when it comes to new car purchases and reduce our increasing reliance on imported oil.

Whoops, getting too political.:p

Some times you wonder about how things tend to run in cycles. For those of us that were driving back in the early seveithys and rember the gas crunch. Then there were the mandates for the car manifacturs to raise the fule milage for all the car. Back then we had the big mussle cars, like we have now, along with the SUV now being on the hit list for milege, With the Iran chrises you just wounder what the next couple of years will bring. I personly my have delay some of the projects on my car. will just have to take it one day at a time.:(

Did anyone else see the news tonight??
There was a small town in California where their regular gas was going for over 3 dollars a gallon?? Now that's getting expensive.

It is quite interesting to see all the energy suppliers takeing advantage of us. Natural gas prices up 77% in a year and gas prices rising to new high levels. Just think of filling the tank of a suv daily driver at the $3.00 a gal. price, wow!!!! I don't think it will effect my Cobra driving to much, we need to enjoy our vehicles as much as possible during our short season in Wi.
