From what I read, the aftermarket exahaust system for these cars do not give added horsepower - at least nothing that is noticable. For that, you need off-road pipes and/or headers.

But, I'm not looking for more power. I want more sound ;)
Nothing that resonates or attracts the police, just more tone. What systems have you heard and liked?

The Magna Flow cat-back that one of our members had on his black 03 sounded awesome. All stainless and on sale at several places for $369.00 . Also no 2000 rpm drone.:bna:

Anyone have phone #'s of places that both sell and install the Magna Flow cat back system at that price ($369)?? Also, I just installed a Steeda Tri-ax shifter on my Mach 1 and love it. Short throws and no more missing the 2-3 upshift.

An aftermarket shifter is a must in my book regardless of model year or brand preference. I have a Hurst. The stock unit is clearly not made for "spririted" driving.

Is the Magna Stainless?

Where can a guy pick this up at the $369? Did anyone install it themselves? I would like to try. Any hints on the installation?

I think Curt said the $369 price was a February special. I don't know where from though. Curt?

Since it is manufactured as a direct bolt on, theoretically it should be relatively easy. Typically, the hardest part of the installation of cat-back systems is getting the stock system off.

Frist stop was the SVTOA page to see if any supporting vendors sold this system. Unfortunately, none carry them that I could see.

Check out these links. They contain pricing, perfromance info, and where most people are buying them. It is important to see that this system does not have the slash end cut on the pipes. The last link has install pics.

Oops, forgot about the thread starter who asked about 01 systems. Sorry Terry!!

There are several SVTOA supporting vendors that carry 01 cat-back with discounts.

Here are a few links of what other people have seen in pricing and performance for the 01's. I think their is at least sound clip in these threads somewhere as well.

is the FRPP system. I hear good things on other boards. However, it scares me that an exhaust sytem would have moving parts. Will I get laughed at when I go to the parts counter and ask for replacement muffler bearings?

:D :D :D :D :D ;)
