If you click on calendar, then the date, a text box will open up. To save you time, here is the message...;)

The Wisconsin Chapter SVTOA is gathering at Aldo's Pizzeria for a race party. The race starts at 11 a.m. and the breakfast buffet starts at 9 a.m. So come early! Aldo's is is located on Pilgrim Road in Germantown, one block south of Mequon Road (STH 167).

Duane is the proprietor and has graciously opened the front of his dining area, with bar, just for our group. I'm really hoping for a good turnout. The place is very nice - it is new place with a nice, cozy atmosphere. He offers a breakfast buffet, which I understand is very popular. [Should go great witha Bloody Mary :D ] The breakfast buffet is between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

He usually shuts down in the middle of the afternoon, with carryouts only. However, for us, he will stay open. So, it will be a private party just for us. Several big televisions are available for our viewing pleasure [and boisterous cheering :bash: ]

In the evening, a full Italian menu is available, including pizza pies.

Come and cheer [or jeer :fryem: ] for your favorite driver.

BTW, here are directions. If you are coming from any area northwest of Germatown, head south on USH 41/45. Exit at STH 167-East and go east. This is also Lannon Road. Lannon Road turns into Mequon Road. You will travel almost 5 miles before you get to the signals at Pilgrim Road. Pilgrim is a north-south street. Turn right (south) and go about one block. The restaurant is in a strip mall on the east side of Pilgrim Road.

If you are coming from Milwaukee, head north on USH 41/45. Exit at CTH YY and go north. This is Pilgrim Road. Go approximately 2.5 miles and look for the restaurant on you right. If you cross Mequon Road (STH 167), you went too far (by one block).

If you come from the west (Marv and me), take CTH Q. Turn north on Lannon Road and follow it for 6~ miles, to Pilgrim.

See you there. This is going to be FUN!!!

Hey 99vert - I was a fan of Jeff until he completely abandoned Ford and everything they did to get him into NASCAR. Actually, I'm sorta feeling sorry for him now that his gold digger ex is sueing him for even more money.

Anyway, the party would not be any fun if everybody was cheering for the same driver. ;)

Go Kenseth (fastest Ford?):bna:

Took the words right out of my mouth. :hbomb:

I have stopped rooting for individual drivers. Maybe just a whacked out personal superstition but my favorite driver was Alan Kulwicki (died in a plane crash), then Davey Allison (died in a helicopter crash), then Ernie Irvan (near death, eventually career ending, injury at Michigan). :knock:

Now I only root for Ford and the entire cast of drivers who drive for them. It's worked out pretty well since.

The party is all set to go. Merv and I are putting some stuff together to raffle off. This is the only "fair" way that we think of to begin a Treasury. :)

Also, party attendees will have the opportunity to play a game that I really can't describe on the board since it might be misconstrued to be something called a "game of chance".

;)

This event will be FUN!!!

The party was a success. Thanks Chris for bringing the 27-inch screen!

Aldo's is a great place. The breakfast buffet was one of the best, ever. The dessert bar exceeded that of many up-scale dinner places around here! The atmosphere was great and Duane made sure that our group's needs were met.

We all drew names for the pool. Here are the results:
First Place (Mike Waltrip), picked by Chris L.................. $15
2nd Place (Kurt Busch), picked by Mark L................... $9
3rd Place (Jimmie Johnson), picked by Curt and Family... $7
4th Place (Kevin Harvick), ditto [Curt, you left this name on the table when you left, but we found it! ]..................$5
5th Place (Mark Martin), also picked by Chris (again)........$3
Last Place (Ryan Newman), picked by Rick....................... $2

Three names were left in the hat for the club treasury. Unfortunatley, Tony Stewert, Dale Jarrett, and Ricky Craven couldn't do anything for our Chapter. Dave D. picked the favorite (D. Earnhardt), but Dale did not help with any additional spending money for his trip to Phoenix this week for the NHRA Nationals.

We also had a raffle...:D

Greg took home the grand prize -- a Mercury Wagon Woody Die-Cast model by Hot Wheels. We also gave away two books, a mouse pad/calculator, and an SVTOA hat.

If you missed this event, be sure to attend next years. We promise that the Fords will do better.

I had a great time, exceeded my daily calorie intake by about three weeks, and the company was 1st rate.
Wish the race went better but what can you do?

Cool prize Terry. Thanks!!!!!

I also ate about 3 times more than I should have. But over all had a good time and hope we do again next year. Too bad the race didn't go the whole distance
