NASCAR is back for the 52nd running of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. Join us for fun, food, Terry's driver pool and the kick-off to the 2010 Nascar Sprint Cup racing season. So even if you are not a big fan of Nascar racing, come out for what has become a great event for both the guys and the girls.

This year NASCAR is promising to bring back the excitement to stock car racing. While the switch back to the traditional spoiler from the current wing won't happen until later this season, Mike Helton, President of NASCAR, has stated that the old adage of "If you ain't rubbin', you ain't racin'" will apply. Brian Pemberton, VP of competition, has also said he wants to return to the policy of putting racing back into the hands of the drivers and was quoted as saying, "Boys, have at it and have a good time." This combined with the lifting of the restrictions on bump-drafting and an increase of horsepower by allowing the largest restrictor plate since 1989 should all add up to an exciting race and season.

The race is set to air at Noon but you can come as early as 11:00 AM if you want for pre-race festivities. For a complete schedule of other Speedweek events, go to http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/.

My address is now listed on mapquest but here are directions. I am in Port Washington east of I-43. Take exit 93 (Hwy. 32) from I-43 and head east. About 1.6 miles from I-43 you will see a monument sign on your left that says Misty Ridge. Take a left onto Misty Ridge Lane and I am the last house on the street on the right (1810). If you are using Mapquest, you need to input Grafton for the city and 53024 for the zip as that is my mailing address.

If you need more detailed directions, please email me at chris@generalcapitalgroup.com

Hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest non-government funder of breast cancer research, at both the Daytona party and at our Shop Talk yesterday. A donation of $125.00 was made today in honor of Linda Neve, wife of Dan (topless96), who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Linda, best wishes for many more miles! :shft

Thank you very much Chris and to the rest who donated money on Linda's behalf. She had masectamy surgery on the 1st and she is doing very well, in fact I have her home resting already. I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I did not know that Chris was going to do this but since Linda was diagnosed I have made plans to use the Fall cruise to be a fund raising tool and rename it "Fall Cruise for the Cause". I am going to raise money over the summer and hope many of you will contribute. I have already recieved confirmation that LeRoy Butler will attend our festivities in Oct and am working with Ford, SVTOA, and Matt Kenseth along with many others to get their support and help us to raise funds.

The concept is to ask for cash donations or pledges for the total number of cars that attend the cruise, the more people we can get to pledge the larger the check could become. I will have details and pledge forms at the Ice Breaker so see you than. :thumbs:Thanks Dan
