Time to replace the tires on the '03 Cobra. Have Goodyears & got 15K before one rear went bald. The rest are not too far from that too.
Give me some ideas as to what to replace the Goodyears with?
Also where to buy them, a friend has used the internet, "Tire Rac" I believe he said.

Don't know what to replace them with but Tire Rack is a very good place to go.

Finally someone answered.

TIRERACK HAS THE GOODRICH G-FORCE T/A KDW FOR $175 EACH, PLUS SHIPPING.
D & D TIRES HERE IN HARTFORD IS $203 INCLUDING MOUNTING, BALANCING & DISPOSAL.

Seems like a fair price at D & D.

Even though the fronts look good I am replacing all 4, don't think its good the have 2 different brands of tires on, besides looking bad. I could sell the 2 fronts I guess. Anyone need 2 - Goodyear 275/40Z/R17's ?? Make me a offer??

I responded but it must've deleted my post

I like discounttiredirect.com as they always had free shipping, though with all the gas crunch and all that who knows if they still do.

For my Lightning and mustang I've been sticking with the Nitto 555 Extremes. They wear really well and seem to grip excellent and don't have excessive tire noise. I was pulling low 1.9 60' times with them at GLD by just dropping them 5psi. That's as good as the stock goodyears ever gave me... for the truck at least. The stock goodyears on the stang GT's are junk in my opinion... love my nittos. I think I got them for $108 each shipped. As far as I know, Chris is a nitto user on his L as well.

*EDIT* The 275/40/ZR17 Nitto 555 is $153 shipped on discount tire direct.

Note the 555R tire is a drag radial and the 555RII is a track tire. If you want street tires you want the 555 extreme.

Add me to the list of Discount Tire Direct and Nitto 555R's people.
Tire Rack has also been a good outfit to me. They just dont carry Nitto.

Ya know, the 555R's actually don't suck in rain either. I wouldn't horse around in the wet, but then you can't much on stock treads either.

Put 4 new G-Force KDW's on yesterday. WOW, what a world of difference from the Goodyears.

Kept the 2 front Goodyears as they had 7/32 to 8/32's on them.
The rears were junked out.

FOR SALE - 2 - 275/40Z.R17 Goodyears. Pick Up in Hartford.

you will need someone to mount and balance .... I found it best to let Marv @ C&M buy them .. mount / balance ...

I went w/ BF Goodrich g-Force Sport ... I believe Alan went w/ Goodyear GS-D3's .. also using Marv.

Goog luck... keep the wheels a turning:)

Good choice Dick. I have used the BFG g-force T/A KD's and really liked them. :D
