Well, now that I think about it, I don't think we had any SVT Contours show up at any of the events. Maybe the Icebreaker in May and I think GhostRiderSVT from Waupaca might be the only Contour on the website.
Please be the one to break this trend and give us a look! Hope to see you around. :)

:( No SVT Contours!!!HMMM I'll have to do something about that. First off I have to get my car together!! I just purchased it, it's a salvage title car. It needs alot work but nothing I can't do, so when I get pics I'll post some. No contours wow I'm shocked I'll check the CEG boards and make sure no one is hiding on us.:) :D :D

My son had a SVT Contour before he bought his 1st Lightning. That was a great car. I loved to drive it, very fast. Will we see it next summer? Please plan on attending our next event. We need SVT Contours too.

To get the discounts you need to be a member of SVTOA. To become a member go to the home page and click on "Sign Up".
As a member of SVTOA you are chapter member.
As to the Contour thats the ride Barry Wormington has so your not alone.
Look forward to seeing you and your car at our events.

You'll need to call 2 different places for registration and build # info.
For SVTOA registration www.svtoa.com or 866.377.8862. Membership is $40 for SVT owners.
For your build # and date of production call 800.367.3788.
Let us know if you have any problems.

Tony:
If you need parts before you get your SVTOA card just tell them you're with the Mustang CLub and they should give you the discount without asking to see any card. They never ask to see my card;)

They should be able to at least give you your membership number and that is all you will need for phone orders.

1995 Moonlight Blue SE. Purchased new at Griffin. No options except for automatic. They were fully equipped as is, with tight suspension (first two years only). I still have this car. It is in Phoenix, with a broken engine. I ran it in a AX at BHF, taking first in DS, beating ACR Neons. ;)
Then, I bought a used 1995 Champagne SE. All options, except automatic. Sold it to a friend last year. This car was run in a AX at GMR when my 93 Cobra couldn't get tires to fit my wheels (Marv, remember that). Beat the same Neons, plus set track record in DS. :D
Love the cars. But they need lot more TLC than those Vulcan Tauruses/Sables. :p

Awesome car, I love it. I wish I would have bought one, got a Continental instead. (Boring, but a nice ride nonetheless) I had two SHO's previously and didn't like the V-8 SHO (mainly because it only came with a juice box) and was looking for something else. Now my driver is a Navigator!! Quite a departure from considering an SVT Contour.
But I still love those Contours. They're great looking cars that haul the mail.

I purchased a Silver 1998 Contour SVT in July 2003. I just love it. I'm surprised there aren't more Contour SVT owners in this chapter. I'm very interested in learning more about the SVT and what go-faster parts may be available for it. Any recommendations? I look forward to hearing from you.

We would love have a Contour night at a Shop Talk and learn more about these first hand. Can any of you make it sometime for Shop Talk event, maybe November 19?
Please let me know.

I'd love to be a part of a Contour SVT Shop Talk. However, Wednesday evenings are a little rugged for me. Any chance of a Monday or Tuesday night? Thanks!

Nov 19th is probably a no go for me. I'm going deer hunting so I'll be leaving for upnorth. I could bring in my CSVT somtime. It's till pretty ragged looking, but I have all new brakes and suspension on it. I still haven't got my headers installed yet maybe over winter I'll do that:rolleyes:
As for mods to the CSVT:
Suspension there are alot of choices. I have Koni struts with H&R springs. I may go to ground Control coilovers though, the car ain't low enough for me. Sway bars are available also and camber kits.
Brakes:
Big brake kits,SS brakelines, etc etc etc
I have KVR cadnium plated slotted rotors with carbon pads, SS brakelines and Brandy new calipers all the way around.
Rims and Tires:
Options are endless. I'm running Mondeo ST200 17's from Europe. Cool looking spoked 17 and very cheap:D Parada spec2 tires, they stick very well.
Motor:
Turbos superchargers and exhausts are available. SF turbo kit is 5K but well worth it. Vortec supercharger has issues STILL!!!! Many cat backs available Borla Bosal Brullen Trubendz. I have the Trubendz cat back with the magnaflow muffler, it's very nice and sounds great still not quite loud enough for me. Headers are available from MSDS, they ain't cheap. I have a set jet hot coated sitting in my bedroom closet waiting install.
CSVT's have an OK aftermarket following and it's slowly coming around thanks to the hardcore CSVT fans. I hope that answers a few questions:)

Hey all, new guy here :D. I picked up my 98.5 SVT Contour last Saturday (Nov. 7), and have been loving every minute of it . It's black, has a wing (that will be coming off, in favor of a stock spoiler), 18's, and 45k. Here's some pics:

Nah, I got it from a dealer in Fond du Lac. Originally it was owned by some French guy from Michigan :wtf:.
On a side note, I finally took the wing off. Damn thing dented the hell out of my trunk lid, so now I have to get a new one .

Just ask some of the SEWI rehul;ars that have met me. Anyways if we ever have a contour/cougar meet again you have to come on down. I will hopefully have my Ground controls soon. My car just doesn't sit low enough for me:p :bna: Later Tony

Just throwing my $0.02 in :) I've been active on contour.org since I got my first 'tour. When I got the SVT back in May I signed up here not long after, but I've been MIA. School and work have been dominating my schedule, but hopefully starting in April when I pull the car out of storage I'll be able to start showing up to meets. It'll be nice to see up close and personal the SVT vehicles that I can't afford :D
BTW, sup Tony.

Apparently this is what is meant by "the dead of winter". I appreciated getting word that someone was posting words on the forum!
I have my E0 parked in my garage for the winter. Everyday that goes by is a day closer when I can pull it out and drive (and Autocross?) it! My 'Tour is from Texas and is soooo clean underneath that I just couldn't take it out in the salt.
I noticed however that after it sits for a while then I start it up, there is a little racket under the hood for a second or two until the oil pressure comes up. Is that something about which I need to be concerned or is that characteristic of the motor??
I hope there will be an opportunity to get all the CSVT people together - I'd like to see the improvements you've all made!!

My E0 does this as well. It happens for a second or two at most startups, and always after an oil change (I'm only done two so far) where its a little bit louder. My non-SVT 'tour does not make the same sound. Someone on contour.org mentioned that it just might be the oil pump cavitating as it builds pressure and that its probably nothing to worry about. I should also note that my E0 revs up to 2k at startup, while my other 'tour only revs up to 1500.
Maybe when we pull our cars out we'll have to meet up and compare sounds :shft

:( yeah the weather sucks...I never heard any strange sounds from my tour? But then again the rumble from the TruBendz usually drowns out anything strange from the motor:D :bna: :bna: :bna: :bna: Woohoo hey Mike I got an Aussie bar coming soon too now:bna: :bna: :bna: :bna:
hmmm winter parts pile up list:
GC's
DMD
Mirko Splitter!!!!
Camber kits
MSDS Headers...yeah yeah I know I need to install them already
and those darn stock side skirts:D
Mike I'm gonna probably fab a new ypipe for my car over summer. Kinda like the BAT/ sho shop Y pipe. Free flowing and NO cat:bna: :bna:
